Rams in big trouble if they don’t give Matthew Stafford a new contract

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford signed a contract extension with the team back in 2022 right after the Super Bowl winning season. The four-year deal assures the quarterback will stay with the team until the end of the 2025-2026 football year.

In his first season with the team after leaving Detroit, he had phenomenal numbers with his 4,886 passing yards, tying Kurt Wagner’s record with 41 touchdown passes in the first season in the era of 17 NFL games. His passing yards are the franchise’s third best and his touchdown passes are second on the team.

The lucrative deal for $160 million dollars included $135 million guaranteed for the player who could very well finish his career in Los Angeles. With that said, now in 2024 he only has $31 million guaranteed left, and he is looking for a new deal, one that links him up for more money and considering the value he has even at age 36, he has a point on why he wants to be paid.
