Both players had strong seasons for their respective teams

The votes were in and Alisson Becker and Missy Bo Kearns both won Liverpool’s player of the season honors

Unsurprisingly, Kearns tops the list after winning player of the month multiple times this season. He has played in all of Liverpool’s 28 games this season, alongside Taylor Hinds. It will always be tough for the Reds, who face the challenge of their first season in the Women’s Super League. However, they finished a safe and respectable seventh place, ensuring they could improve for at least one more season. Kearns was a big part of that success, anchoring midfield and also scoring five goals.

Speaking of her victory, de Scouser said: “We’ve really grown in our first season in the Women’s Super League and it’s been great to be able to contribute. I’ve been particularly happy to add some goals to my game, something we knew we could help team. The most important thing, of course, is to thank my team-mates, because without them nothing is possible, and the staff who work so hard to give us the best in every game.”

Although Liverpool had a disappointing 2022-2023 season, finishing in fifth place, Alisson Becker was the highlight of the season. The Brazilian goalkeeper kept 17 clean sheets in 47 appearances in all competitions. This season also saw Alisson make 200 appearances and 100 clean sheets in his Liverpool career.

Alisson Becker has been voted Liverpool’s player of the season for 2022-23.

The Brazilian goalkeeper picked up the award for the first time in his career with the Reds after finishing first in a Liverpoolfc.com fan poll, with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold in second and third respectively.

Alisson played consistently well for Jürgen Klopp’s side in the season just ended, keeping 17 clean sheets in his 47 appearances in all competitions.

He started the season in characteristically strong form, passing the 200 cap mark for the club en route to being named Standard Chartered Player of the Month for October. His contributions during this period include being named Carlsberg Player of the Match in their 1-0 home win over West Ham United, saving a penalty from Jarrod Bowen late in the first half.

Alisson then showed off his incredible playing skills by winning Mohamed Salah’s winner over Manchester City at Anfield.

He maintained that level of form for the rest of the season and delivered another player of the match performance in a 2-0 away win at Newcastle United in February.

Then, in early May 2018, the new signing from AS Roma gave Liverpool a century without cashing when he scored a shutout against Brentford at Anfield to help secure a 1-0 victory.
