Giants to Be Featured on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks: Offseason;’ Premieres on July 2
The latest team to be featured in HBO’s Hard Knocks has been revealed on Wednesday.
According to a release from HBO, the New York Giants will be the subject of the upcoming season of Hard Knocks: Offseason. The five-part series will debut with its first episode on Tuesday, July 2, with new episodes being released each subsequent Tuesday through July 30.
This is the second straight year that Hard Knocks is headed to the Big Apple, as the New York Jets were featured in last year’s offseason edition of the famed show.
The release stated that the series “will bring viewers inside the New York Giants organization as the team prepares for their highly anticipated 100th season. Camera crews will chronicle the team’s every move as general manager Joe Schoen and other members of the team’s front office and staff navigate the critical offseason period from January to July 2024, from the NFL Scouting Combine to free agency, to the NFL Draft, and team minicamps.”
The Giants are coming off a disappointing 6-11 finish to the 2023 season, but they made some solid moves over the offseason that should have them in a better position to be successful in 2024.
New York brought in one of the best defensive additions by acquiring star edge rusher Brian Burns from the Carolina Panthers and signing him to a five-year, $141 million contract with $87.5 million guaranteed. The team also landed one of the most highly-touted prospects in the 2024 NFL draft by selecting LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the No. 6 pick.
The 2024 season will be crucial for the future of Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, who is working his way back from a torn ACL. While Jones is just a year removed from signing a four-year, $160 million extension, the 2024 season is the only guaranteed year remaining on his contract. His preparation for the upcoming campaign will surely be one of the top storylines of Hard Knocks.
