The 20 most expensive players in the Premier League revealed…

The Premier League is currently home to some of the most exciting talent in world football.

Stars have been brought into England’s top flight on expensive transfers or have seen their value skyrocket on the back of excellent performances.

But who are the most expensive players in the league right now?

Well, thanks to Transfermarkt, we can see who exactly will make it into the top 20. Now there is a problem almost immediately.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Chelsea’s Reece James and many others are all worth €70.00m, and counting them all brings the list to 21.

So as a tiebreaker, we’ve decided to go with the younger stars as they will most likely be more valuable in the long run.

And just to give you an idea of how much quality is currently in the division, some of the big names don’t make the list either.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is no match, as is Chelsea’s Mason Mount, both valued €5m less than the players above them in the table. Without further ado, here are the 20 most expensive players currently in the Premier League…

Haaland 60 million euros collected

It’s probably no surprise that Haaland tops the list after his debut season at Man City.

He played a crucial role in helping them achieve an incredible treble, scoring 52 goals in the sky blue shirt in all competitions.

He is worth 60 million euros more than the other two players who made it to the podium: his team-mate Foden and Arsenal’s Saka.

The Norwegian is now worth nearly triple what City Borussia Dortmund paid in 2022, a reported transfer fee of around €60m.

His value also makes him currently the most expensive player in the world, according to the CIES Football Observatory.

Declan Rice is the only player outside of the ‘Big Six’

English football’s so-called ‘Big Six’ teams also take up nearly every spot on the list. City have five players worth more than €80m on their books and seven are the most signings on this list.

They are followed by Arsenal with four players and Manchester United with three players.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea have two new arrivals, with new signing Enzo Fernandes making it into the top five after his costly January move to west London.

And Spurs and West Ham each record just one appearance despite each player being worth over €80million.

West Ham captain Rice is the only person on the list to play for a side outside of the ‘Big Six’.

However, with Arsenal and other teams seemingly interested, there could be a clear win soon.
