Astros warn fans of conditions ahead of tonight’s game

Minute Maid Park will still host the Houston Astros, a day after severe storms devastated downtown Houston.

The team said on Friday that their Friday night game against the Milwaukee Brewers would proceed as scheduled. Pitch one is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Additionally, the team advised spectators to use caution when travelling because there may still be glass and other debris lying around that coated the downtown streets last night.

The team issued a statement saying, “Fans are encouraged to exercise caution as they travel downtown as cleanup efforts are in full effect.” The hurricane caused hundreds of thousands of residents in Harris County to lose power and at least four fatalities. After a powerful storm passes through the Houston area, at least 4 people are dead. The game on Friday is the opening half of a three-game series that the Astros will play in Houston over the course of the weekend against the Milwaukee Brewers. Hunter Brown, a third-year pitcher, will start his eighth game of the year tonight.
