Liverpool ‘interesting’ for Van de Ven

Liverpool have reportedly declined their interest in Wolfsburg and Dutch defender Micky van de Ven after Jurgen Klopp and Jörg Schmadtke held a ‘consultation’.

This is reported by the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, who claim the 22-year-old won’t move to Anfield this summer.

A report on Tuesday said: “Schmadtke, in consultation with manager Jurgen Klopp, has concluded that van de Ven’s transfer to Liverpool will come too soon as the professional still lacks the physical robustness to make his mark on the island.”

Apparently, Van de Ven is now set to move to Tottenham Hotspur. Would you like Liverpool to sign a defender this summer, the Reds?

Has Levi Colwill hinted at a move to Anfield this summer?

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has refused to end speculation over his future at Stamford Bridge – the 20-year-old refused to downplay Liverpool links in a recent Instagram Live.

Colwill – who is contracted to the Londoners until the summer of 2025 but has the option of a further year if he plays enough games – has been amid speculation over his future promotion in recent weeks after a series of Great performance for England Under-21s. suspended their EM success in Georgia this summer.

ECHO understands Colwill is admired at Anfield and club officials watched his progress closely during his loan spells at Brighton and Hove Albion last season. Meanwhile, new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has already confirmed he will hold talks with the England youth team when he returns from holiday later this month.

Despite enjoying a post-tournament break, that hasn’t stopped Colwill from sending Chelsea and Liverpool fan quarters into overdrive with his recent comments when asked about a potential summer move to Anfield during an Instagram live .

While on the social media app, Colwill was urged by a friend to clarify where his future lies when he said: “Even my Jamaican brothers [enjoy] saying Levi to Liverpool.” To which the Chelsea defender replied: “[I] haven’t been talking football, man.”

It’s not the first time Colwill has been asked about his future at Chelsea in recent days. After Lee Carsley’s England beat Spain in the under-21 final on Saturday night courtesy of a goal from Reds midfielder Curtis Jones, he said: “I’ll talk to my family, I’ll talk to whoever I need and I’ll make a decision.

“I need to play at the end of the day to get there [England senior team] and get to the next pitch.”
