Daniels, a receiver selected in the first round by the Commanders this year, was formerly a teammate of Giants first-round selection Malik Nabers. Even though they won’t be playing simultaneously, the two former teammates will undoubtedly engage in some friendly rivalry. However, it won’t be too fierce because they called off their wager on who would win Rookie of the Year after learning about the league’s gambling rules.
The Giants have a 7-2-1 record (including three straight wins) against Washington, one of four teams the Commanders will face this season that has a completely new coaching staff. Daniels and Nabers’ presence for their respective teams will highlight the Commanders’ new era as they look to move past their past misfortunes.
Aside from Washington, three other clubs on the Giants 2024 roster have new head coaches: Dan Quinn in Seattle, Raheem Morris in Atlanta, and Dave Canales in Carolina.
