Liverpool striker named Man Utd plans to sign second striker after Hojlund, Greenwood transfers gain momentum
Man Utd are looking for a second addition to their forward line as transfers for Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Greenwood take shape. A report cites a Liverpool striker as the perfect example of what Erik ten Hag wants.
The Red Devils have added Mason Mount to their midfield and are close to signing Andre Onana as a replacement for Inter Milan.

In fact, the Telegraph have reported that United are lining up for a second offer for the Denmark international. United are reportedly expecting a bid worth around £50m to seal the deal.
The Manchester Evening News has claimed United boss John Murtough is in talks with Atalanta over signing Hojlund. The question of sending Mason Greenwood the other way on loan has also been raised.
According to unconfirmed reports on Friday, Greenwood has agreed to be loaned out to Atalanta for one season. The loan route would give United a chance to gauge the public reaction to Greenwood’s return to professional football. But with Greenwood potentially departing and both Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho up for sale, a new MEN report says Ten Hag want a second new striker.
According to the outlet, there is a need for a versatile striker who can operate across the entire front line. Man Utd have been chasing a player who fits that bill in January: Cody Gakpo.
Both Man Utd and Liverpool were ready for the Dutch international and for a long time a move to Old Trafford seemed the likely outcome.
However, United’s heads have not opened their wallets, instead forcing Ten Hag to explore the loan market for a cheaper alternative. But while Gakpo’s signing is clearly a non-starter, there could still be a versatile striker available. Moreover, it costs a remarkably low fee.
Reports from Italy suggest Man Utd and Tottenham are indeed the focus of Roma’s Paulo Dybala.
A clause in the Argentine’s contract allows the 29-year-old to join a foreign side this summer for a reduced fee of just €12m (£10.2m).
Alternatively, Italian sides can activate the €20m (around £17.5m) release clause, although Roma could ‘cancel’ the move by triggering a €3.8m wage rise. euros per year to 6 million euros.
